A Transformational Recipe

December 7, 2009...

To be "inspired." To be "motivated." To be "transformed."

Inspiration. Motivation. Transformation.

I believe when true change reaches an individual, these three words
work together in perfect sequence. One doesn't guarantee the
other...but the goal is that one will follow the other.

On occasion, we'll have a special moment when "inspiration" greets
us. We meet a person, see something, read something, or have an idea
that inspires us to want something different for our lives. That moment
of inspiration fills us with an instant feeling of "Yes...I can, too!"

But "inspiration" can be short lived.

Without immediate action on our part, inspiration can slip away. The
person or idea fades from our mind and things return to the norm.

But when inspiration is fed with action, "motivation" kicks in. We
begin to take action on our inspiration, and our purpose and passion
fire is lit. We are motivated to do more and to be more. Internal
change starts to smile at us from a distance.

But "motivation" can have a short life, too.

Without a constant feeding of inspiration, motivation starts to die.
We soon realize how hard our objective might be, and then we decide
"It's not worth it!" Deep down, though, we know that's a lie. It is
worth it.

When motivation, however, is combined with accountability,
"transformation" starts to change our world. When we establish those
day-to-day anchors and accountability measures in our life to keep us
inspired...to keep us motivated...our world begins to transform. Our
attitude changes. Our passion increases. Our purpose becomes bigger.
Our world fills with empowered hope.

So you want the recipe for real life change? Here it is:

Take a handful of "inspiration," add a full cup of "motivation," and
stir it often with lots of action. When things really start
simmering...add a pinch (or two) of accountability every day...and
then...only then...watch "transformation" really start to take shape!

More success. Better realtionships. More harmony. Greater
purpose. That's what serving up a dish of "transformation" brings to
you. Your body will love it. Your mind will eat it up. And your
emotional world will become more centered.

And the flavor that it adds to your world? Well, that's to die for.
