I went to a used book sale today.
If you've never been to one before, they can be a lot of fun. I love picking through the collection of biographies, psychology, historical, and self-improvement books just to see what treasures I can find. Today I came away with eleven such treasures and spent a grand total of $14.68.
All that learning ahead for me and only three $5 dollar bills. I am feeling pretty lucky.
A long, long time ago, I was listening to a speaker named Charlie "Tremendous" Jones. I was only a year out of college, and I remember something very poignant that he said that has stayed with my for 20+ years: "The two greatest influencers in living an amazing life will be the people that you meet and the books that you read."
Twenty-two years later, I am still going to book sales...and learning, growing, and evolving...because I discovered Charlie was right.
